In the South of Zanzibar lies (is) a great natural wonder- the Jozani national Park which covers about 50 Sq km and one of the few remaining rain forests in East Africa.
From the tales of the infamous Zanzibar Leopards to the curing plants and the nature trail lined up with red mahogany tree, eucalyptus and different types of palm trees. Your guide will explain and demonstrate how for many years local women have used palm leaves for weaving, you will hear about the medicinal properties of different plants and leaves.
On the other side of the park you are welcomed by troops of Red Colobus monkeys jumping from one branch to another in search of young leaves for food and moisture as they don’t drink water.
You will walk through the abundantly green swamp forest and the uniquely designed boardwalk into the mangroves, depending low or high tide you might see colourful crabs or little fish. The little Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkeys are almost always here waiting for you and for the countless photos, they are adorable with cute faces and a really long tail, they move in large numbers of 20-30. Well, on a light note: expect them to do the monkey, after all that’s them!
